So how has everyone's winter been going? Ours hasn't been so great here in Northern Illinois. November and December were really gross and muddy, and January has been so cold it is all you can do to keep warm inside your house.
Sitting inside for hours on end has gotten us thinking and dreaming about riding this spring. This spring also happens to correlate with Austin getting his first week of vacation from his job. So what would you do with a relatively new quad and a whole week of vacation?
We're trip planning of course!
We've decided on the Hatfield McCoy trails in southern West Virginia for this trip, and we are all very excited about it.
"Who do you mean, all?" you might be asking. We plan on heading down there with our friends Ethan and Jessica. (Our newly engaged friends Ethan and Jessica! Congrats guys!)
Ethan and Jessica bought an Outlander Max 1000 a few weeks after we did last year. Ethan tricked everyone. He told us that the 1000 was too expensive, and that he was just going to get a 600. Then he pulled up with a 1000 in the bed of his pick up.
That's Ethan on the left, and Austin on the right. Also, my shadow in the foreground. Ha. |
Anyway, the four of us are planning to head down there the second week of May if Austin can get that week off. I've been doing tons of research into the different trails and accomodations. It seems to be all I can think about. I'm just really excited, okay?
I'll probably pack tomorrow. ;)
Have any of you been to the Hatfield McCoy Trails? Got any advice for us?
